Nintendo presents The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, produced by Eiji Aonuma, who has
previously produced past Legend of Zelda games, such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword,
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Released
on September 26th, 2024, it follows the story of Zelda and her quest to fix rips in reality that
appear throughout Hyrule.
The game starts with Link saving Zelda as per usual, but as he does so, he gets sucked into a
Rift, a rip in reality that leads to a place called the Still World, where people and fragments of
Hyrule that landed in the Rifts go. When left long enough anything in the Still World
disappears permanently.
After Zelda is saved, she meets a creature called Tri, who gifts her the Tri Rod. This gives Zelda
the abilities of Bind, which allows her to move an object, Reverse Bond, which allows her to
move with objects, and the ability to create Echoes, copies of objects or previously defeated
foes.
Another ability Zelda has is to enter Swordfighter Form, which allows her to fight alongside
Echoes in short bursts. Swordfighter form uses energy, which can be gained by exploring the
Still World and defeating monsters that appear from the Rifts. My favorite ability is the creation
of Echoes, just for their creative use in both puzzles and combat.
The graphics of this game mimic those of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, using a
bright, cartoonish look and top-down visuals, resting at 1080p in indoor areas and 720p when
venturing into the overworld. Despite this, the graphics are remarkably clear and bright.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a great game, and I would recommend it to everyone,
The Legend of Zelda fan or not.
