Night Under the Stars was the homecoming theme this year. During the week prior to homecoming, Spirit Week, students were encouraged to dress up as part of the Night Under the Stars theme by dressing up as their favorite Hollywood star or characters on the popular reality show like Jersey Shore. One day was decade day, where students dressed up as an entire decade; People were dressed like 80’s,90’s and 00’s themes from those decades. As spirit week came to an end, so did the points and in total it was a tie between Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors.
On Friday, students attended a pep rally in class colors before the final football game of the season against Freedom High School. Students and families from Gainesville and some of the first ever class alumni from ‘23 and ‘24 attended to cheer them on. Gainesville won the game with a whopping 42-6 points!
The homecoming dance was held at the school on Saturday where the students could listen to pop music played by a DJ and have snacks and bottled water (donated by families). People said it was one eventful night… One senior said – “[This] homecoming was probably my favorite one” and “It was definitely a night to remember and an eventful one!” Another senior said, “Best homecoming yet, even if we didn’t attend the dance”
