For many fans, the wait for the third season of Invincible felt like an eternity, the end of the second season left plenty of questions unanswered. Season 3, like previous seasons, releases one episode a week. As of February 20th, episodes 1-5 have been released, leaving the last three episodes unseen. Season 2 ended with loose ends that left everyone wanting more, Allen finding Omni-Man in the Viltrimite prison, Invincible (Mark) and Atom-Eve’s story progressing and Marks internal conflict on whether killing can be right or wrong continues.
The first five episodes of Invincible season 3 received a critic score of 100% Rotten Tomatoes, a score that most shows and movies don’t get. Although the show is a recreation of the comics, its implementation of character development and slowed pace while keeping it interesting has been praised by viewers. The season starts by splitting the audience into two sides, Cecil’s and Marks, and although both sides have good points and reasons, it still creates a divide between fans on who’s really in the right. Mark has always refrained from and discouraged killing but recent events and people have Mark conflicted on whether it’s acceptable at times. Mark isn’t completely innocent; he has killed people on multiple occasions. Cecil’s way of rehabilitating villains and having them pay their debts by working for him is smart, but the methods he’s used against Mark and others were unorthodox.
As the next episodes are released in the upcoming weeks, the story will progress and answer more questions. So far, the show’s story and characters make it a fun watch for most ages.
