Varsity football is now in season! This year brings a new coach and players. Here’s some insight from the players.
Junior Amari Ruth said that his personal favorite memory with the team would be his pregame meals and pregame practices that he does with the team. Senior Kyan Williams said his would be celebrating after a win in the locker rooms.
In regard to advice for younger players, Williams said his advice was to “stay confident and keep working.”, and Ruth said that younger players should “Keep it going, doesn’t matter how big or what size you are”.
This year at Gainesville we have a new coach, Coach Tre Cage, and the team likes him so far. Junior Ray Garnett said: “I think he’s a great coach because he pushes us to our limits every day and helps us get better”.
