The advisory schedule has changed. Regarding this, students are of a similar mind. They either like it or hate it. Sophomore Shyanne Jones thinks the new schedule is a little discombobulating.
“It’s kinda crazy. I feel like they could’ve done something better because of the fact that you are moving from one class to another and then back to the class that you just left.” Jones said.
Some students think that Advisory is unneeded, like Sophomore Elvan Sen, “I think it (advisory) is a little unnecessary. I also think that advisory should be a time to catch up on any work you may have for other classes, but they split it so that you have a class that you aren’t supposed to have that specific day.” Sen said.
Others think that advisory was a bad idea, like Sophomore Alyssa Brown,
“It’s not my favorite class because you don’t have time to finish your work in your other classes. It just wasn’t a good idea, just for getting-your-work-done reasons.” Brown said.
In the midst of these negative statements, there are some who like the community advisory provides, like Senior Emma Harvey.
“I like the people and I like how you keep the same people in your advisory class all the way to senior year.” Harvey said.
So, the student opinions are that Advisory is a pointless waste of time that could be better spent finishing classwork, although they enjoy the provided community.
