How SALC chooses Spirit Week Events

    How+SALC+chooses+Spirit+Week+Events

The sprit week beginning on Monday, March 18th, 2024, included Monochromatic Day on  Monday, Duo Day on Tuesday, Beach Day on Wednesday, PJ Day on Thursday, and Anything But a Backpack Day on Friday. This group of events was planned by SALC.

According to Emma Harvey, a senior, spirit week events are chosen through discussions between students and teachers and different groups are in charge of different things. The spirit group in SALC is in charge of the spirit weeks and choosing the events.

“Events are chosen through discussions between the students and the teacher, and then we send out forms to students, either through Email or Canvas. After that, we take the chosen events to administration and ask them about them.” Harvey said.

Spirit week dates are chosen through whatever special weeks are upcoming, or there will be a spirit week before a pep rally.

“We usually do it (spirit weeks) when there is an upcoming event. This week is Autism Awareness Week, so we have a sprit week this week, and two weeks ago before Spring Break was a pep rally, so there was a spirit week then, too.” Harvey says.

For those of you who are always complaining about the quality of our spirit weeks, fill out the form and help choose what our Spirit Day themes are.
