In 2025, A24 had their name under a surplus of hits, such as Materialists, Warfare, Ne Zha 2, and the trending, Marty Supreme. It isn’t unusual for A24 to represent the critically acclaimed, however their presence in the industry has only grown more and more prominent. This begs the question, what is A24?
A24 Films LLC is an independent American entertainment production and distributing company, meaning they work logistically with licensing, marketing, and the overall process of creating the content. They are the most recognizable for their arthouse style films, casting an experimental theme across their overall filmography.
Their highest grossing film with a global revenue reaching over $100 million, Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), exhibits these attributes clearly. With the artistic choices and untraditional strategies of storytelling, the piece was able to stand out against other nominees during awards season. This led to the film receiving seven Academy Awards and a surplus of other prizes of recognition.
Many had predicted their most recent movie, Marty Supreme (2025), and its leading actor, Timothée Chalamet, will score A24 more awards—especially after Chalamet had secured a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
On January 22nd, the nominations for the 98th Academy Awards, or Oscars, were made public. Marty Supreme was nominated in the following nine categories: Actor in a Leading Role, Casting, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Best Picture, Production Design, and Writing (Original Screenplay). This makes the film the second most Oscar nominated A24 product, next to Everywhere All at Once with 11 nominations.
With the 2026 award season coming along, we expect to find A24’s Marty Supreme to win many decorations with its standout themes.
