Homecoming was a successful hit this year of 2025! We had an amazing Dj, active dancers, snacks on deck and more. The theme of the night was “Miami nights” and, let us just say, everyone really took the night to Miami with outstanding outfits. But homecoming is not all that was fun. lets talk about the week leading up to homecoming.
Spirit week is the week where students make a vote on different fun activities to do during the days of the week leading up to homecoming. This year’s spirit week votes consisted of Anything but a Backpack Day, Duo Day, Decades Day, Pajama Day, and finally Class Colors for our annual pep rally (First-year students wore white, Sophomores wore red, Juniors wore grey and Seniors wore black).
During the pep rally, we had interactions going on in the field along with the crowd. For each section of grades, we play Finish the Lyric to get the crowd warmed up. Afterward, the students turn to the field to spectate the students that signed up to take part in the pep rally, beginning with a relay race. Following, we have other activities like musical chairs blindfolded, and Ro-Sham-Bo for our beaded necklaces. Students also watched our dance team and cheer team preform their beautiful stunts they have been practicing for this very day.
The students had a great pep rally and hoco experience, we love keeping interactive activities and ways to expand our socialization within our school.
So, to give it up, this years Gainesville High school Homecoming event was an enormous success!
