The first week of the NFL regular season never fails to show who has and has not been putting work in during the off-season. The season started off with the reigning champs, the Los Angeles Rams receiving their championship ring and hosting the Buffalo Bills on a Thursday night. The Buffalo Bills blew the Rams out, winning 31-10 behind Stefon Diggs’s eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown. Every football fan was excited for the season to start as 21 million people tuned in to watch the game.

Week one was filled with shocking upsets such as the New York Giants beating the Tennessee Titans and the Saints overcoming a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter. It was the first time two ties occurred in week one of the regular season. The offensive player of the week was Patrick Mahomes quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs who completed 30 out of 39 passes for 360 yards and 5 touchdowns. The defensive player of the week was Minkah Fitzpatrick, safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers who accounted for 14 tackles with a blocked PAT (point after touchdown) and a pick-six.

The season got off to an exciting start. Football fans can’t wait to see their favorite team play the rest of the season.
